Rubha Dubh (pronounced ‘roo-doo’) is a single cask bottling family venture, grown from a common passion for a small island with a big character.
Drawn from a single Sherry hogshead, Rubha Dubh celebrates Islay's distinctive Scotch Whisky style. Distilled at Bruichladdich and matured with care since the rebirth of the distillery, its character is light and youthful. The name translates from the Gaelic as ‘black headland’, a promontory close to the distillery.
We created the branding for this cask strength bottling and the commissioned illustration that adorns the label celebrates the ‘Angel’s Share’ that is lost during maturation. Each bottle of the limited edition of just 275 was hand-numbered.
